As the 2022 Francis Hodgkins fellow, Songsataya has spent the last year in the Otago region, practicing, as they do, through deep study and relation to place. Compositions from Lovers Rock will feature in their upcoming post-fellowship exhibition at The Hocken Gallery in March 2023.

For this edition, the scores are presented as both a CD and digital album (accessed by QR code). A ‘burnt’ CD, the physical album belongs in the glove box, with road-trip albums and summer mix-tapes that prompt memory and mood for other places. Lovers Rock includes travel photos; visual snapshots of the places the sounds are arranged for.

When ordering, please let us know if you'd like a specific colour, otherwise we will lucky dip.
